My Special Place

WAL: how to use our senses to add detail to our writing to make it interesting for our reader.

What helped me with this writing was talking about our ideas, conversation, looking at examples that the teacher gave, sharing ideas, and brainstorming.

My next step is to: Give more detail in my sentences.
I felt confusing to describe my senses.

Understanding a Character's Impact

Reflection:
I was learning how to understand the character's impact.
I understood the changes that Leslie caused.
The tricky part was to change it to a obituary.
My next step would be to use the same ideas when I read other books.
In this work I was writing as one of the characters.

Comparing Characters

Reflection:
I was learning how to compare characters.
I compared Jesse and Leslie from Bridge to Terabithia.
I found this learning was easy,
because once you know about the story,
you'll have lots of ideas to compare with.
My next step is to  think about who I am more like and what I have in common with these characters.

Make and break popplet

Reflection
I am learning to make and break numbers,
I think I did well, because I wrote a lot of ways to make 20.  I used subtraction, addition, square roots, division and brackets.
Next time I think I should write more.  I could try to use factorial and other complicated ways.

                                                            Reflection
I was learning how to write a Did You Ever poem.
I felt a bit confused doing this learning
because I wasn't sure about the sequence,
so I looked at the example.
I had some trouble thinking
about interesting words,so next time
I think I need to look in a thesaurus.
I could also ask the teacher for some help on
interesting words.
